Users are not blocked from clocking in when there is a face mismatch. Admins are notified whenever there is a mismatch between photos.

Are users tracked while off the clock?
No. The Timeero app will only capture and store locations when you are clocked in or tracking mileage. On your mobile app, there will be a blue flashing icon (if you are on iOS), and a notification (if you are on Android), when your location is being used.
Can GPS tracking be optional?
Yes. Administrators can configure their Timeero accounts to require GPS tracking to be on.
Can I track without an internet connection?
Yes you sure can! Our software is built to work offline. This means that without an internet connection, you can still track time, mileage and more.
Can Segmented Tracking harm my employees’s privacy?
No. Timeero app captures employees’ location, routes, and mileage only while they are on the clock. The same principles apply to Segmented Tracking too.
Can Timeero be used to secretly track people?
No. Timeero is not a spy service. It should not be used to track time, mileage or location without consent from the person being tracked.

Do I need a credit card to start a trial?

No, you don’t have to take photos of each user. The first photo taken for facial recognition is used as the comparison photo for other punch in and out photos of the photos.
Does GPS tracking work without an internet connection?
Yes. GPS does not rely on an internet connection or your data plan. Since Timeero is built to work offline, the GPS location and time can be captured and stored on the device. It will only be available in the cloud after the user gets back online.
Does Segmented Tracking work offline?
Segmented Tracking works offline as well as online. It can track your employees’ time and location even with low or no Internet connection. The app records the data from the moment your employees clock in and syncs it to the system when they have Internet access again. Segmented Tracking ensures you don’t miss any data, no matter where your employees work.
Does Timeero work offline?
Absolutely! You need to be online to download and install the app, however, it will track and collect data with or without an internet connection.
Does this work without an internet connection?
Yes. The Timeero terminal will allow you to record time even without an internet connection. When an internet connection is available, all the time entries and changes are synchronized to the cloud so administrators and others in the office can see the changes.
How accurate are GPS points?
GPS point accuracy is dependent on a number of factors such as the quality of the GPS chip in your phone, GPS satellite signal strength, weather conditions and others. The accuracy of a GPS signal can be compared to the quality of a phone call, there are many factors at play. In the Timeero app, we record the accuracy of each GPS point to give you an idea of how accurate the point is.
How can I activate Segmented Tracking?

Timeero will recognize it whenever your employees visit it. If you don’t use jobs, or if your employees stop at a site that is not a job in your account, Timeero will show the location’s address instead. You can find detailed information in our Help Article.
How does Timeero calculate mileage?
Any travel speed that exceeds 4.47 miles per hour is included in the mileage traveled calculation. This way, we ensure that no time spent walking or stuck in traffic gets tracked for mileage purposes. In addition, whenever the employee moves 150 feet, the app captures their GPS location and timestamps it.

How often and what causes a GPS tracking point to be captured?
Timeero captures a new GPS point when a user travels more than 150 feet from their last location or every 5-30 minutes, depending on the user's phone's operating system.
Is there an extra charge for integrations?
Aside from our ADP integration, all other integrations do not require a fee. The fee to use ADP is charged by ADP and not by Timeero.
Is this legal?
Facial recognition is legal. Certain states, like California, have banned the use of facial recognition by law enforcement. Even though facial recognition provides a lot of benefits to teams and employees, it’s good to give consent to employees to have their photos taken.

An active user is any user that has their account set to active. If you have seasonal team members or employees, you can activate and deactivate them. Billing is prorated based on dates and time of activation and deactivation.

Who has access to my data?
