Are employees blocked from clocking in on a face mismatch?
Users are not blocked from clocking in when there is a face mismatch. Admins are notified whenever there is a mismatch between photos.
Do I need to take or register each user’s photo to use the facial recognition feature?
No, you don’t have to take photos of each user. The first photo taken for facial recognition is used as the comparison photo for other punch in and out photos of the photos.
Does this work without an internet connection?
Yes. The Timeero terminal will allow you to record time even without an internet connection. When an internet connection is available, all the time entries and changes are synchronized to the cloud so administrators and others in the office can see the changes.
Is this legal?
Facial recognition is legal. Certain states, like California, have banned the use of facial recognition by law enforcement. Even though facial recognition provides a lot of benefits to teams and employees, it’s good to give consent to employees to have their photos taken.
Be sure to check with an employment lawyer for your state or country before embracing facial recognition in your organization.
What kind of tablets does Timeero facial recognition support?
It works on an iPad Pro or iPad Air with a front facing camera. If you want to utilize GPS on the kiosk app, you will need to use an iPad with GPS tracking.
