Control Who Clocks In and When
With Work Schedule Settings

Work Schedule Settings let you define exactly when your team can clock in — and block everything outside those hours. Configure it once and it runs automatically, on every shift.

🕐 How to configure work schedule settings

  1. 1
Go to Company Settings → Work Schedule Settings
This is where all clock-in restrictions are configured. Changes apply account-wide immediately.
  2. 2
    Set a Start Time
Enter the earliest time users should be allowed to clock in. Anyone who tries before this time will be blocked.
  3. 3
    Set an End Time
Enter the latest time users are allowed to clock in. After-hours attempts will be blocked unless you toggle the exception below.
  4. 4
    Select working days
Choose which days of the week employees are allowed to clock in. On any unselected day, clock-in is blocked entirely — regardless of the time.
  5. 5
    Toggle exceptions if needed
Two optional toggles let you add flexibility for specific situations:
Allow early clock-in — lets users clock in before the Start Time
Allow after-hours clock-in — lets users clock in after the End Time
  6. 6
    Exclude specific users
Select any users who should be exempt from these settings. Excluded users can clock in any day, at any time — useful for managers or on-call staff.
⚠️ Important: Work Schedule Settings never restrict clock-out. Employees can always clock out, any day, at any time — regardless of these settings.
💡 Using Auto Clock-In/Out? Work Schedule Settings are required. Without a configured schedule, employees won't be clocked in automatically — even if they're standing inside a geofenced job site.
