TL;DR

  • Eliminate manual data entry and simplify payroll when you integrate your payroll system with Timeero.
  • Timeero connects with 12 payroll systems,  including Gusto, ADP, QuickBooks (Online & Desktop), Paycor, Paylocity, Paychex, BambooHR, Rippling, Sage Intacct, Viventium, and Xero.
  • Two-way and one-way integrations: Most integrations sync employee/payroll information both ways, while some are export-only.
  • If there is no integration available for your system, you can connect through Zapier or Timeero’s Public API.

Let’s cut to the chase. Running payroll isn’t the most enjoyable part of HR. Especially when you have to access multiple apps and spreadsheets just to get to your employees’ time and mileage numbers. The dislike doubles when you have to manually enter those totals into your company’s payroll software before checks can be issued.

When your data lives in multiple places, you’re bound to overlook entries or key in the wrong information. A GPS time and mileage tracking app like Timeero replaces the need for multiple systems by integrating with your company’s payroll software.

Timeero records and stores your employees’ payroll-ready hours and mileage in one place and exports them to your payroll provider in one click. This means no more manual data entry, fewer timesheet corrections, and more time spent on high priority HR tasks.

If you’re tired of juggling multiple systems, use this guide to find out if Timeero integrates with your company’s payroll system and what data transfers between the two.

What if Timeero doesn’t already integrate with your payroll system?

A native integration isn't the only way to connect Timeero with your existing software.

1. Zapier

Use Zapier when you want to connect Timeero to an app that doesn't have a native integration.

Rather than syncing information like traditional integrations, when an event is triggered in Timeero (clock in/out, new job, task, or schedule created) Timeero sends that data to Zapier which then connects with your app.

What transfers?

  • From Timeero To Zapier: clock in, clock out, new job added, new task created, new schedule created
  • From Zapier To Timeero: create and import jobs

Learn more about Timeero and Zapier integration.

2. Public API

The Public API is a better fit for businesses with custom payroll workflows or software that isn't supported by a native integration or Zapier. Your development team can use the API to build a custom connection between Timeero and your payroll or workforce software.

Here's what moves in each direction.

Out of Timeero Read
Employee hours
Mileage
GPS locations
Time-off entries
Who's currently clocked in
Custom fields
Into Timeero Write
Jobs
Tasks
Employees
Schedules
Timesheets
Breaks
Groups

Keep one thing in mind on cost. The API sends hours and mileage, not finished job-cost or reimbursement totals. Those get calculated on your side. Your payroll or accounting system applies pay and mileage rates to the hours and miles Timeero provides.
